September's DALL Meeting

Watch for the announcement in your email boxes!

Dr. Herman Totten will be the guest speaker at the next DALL meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 28th at Jackson & Walker, downtown Dallas. He will be speaking on "The future of librarians and librarianship."

Dr. Totten is the Dean at the Library School at UNT in Denton. He has won various awards and honors for his work in library schools.

Here is an excert from the U.S. National Commission of Libraries and Information Science:
"Among his many awards and honors are the 2001 ALA Melvil Dewey Award; the 1999 Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) Outstanding Teacher Award; the 1992 ALA Black Caucus Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Library and Information Science Education; and the 1991 ALISE Award for Professional Contributions to Library and Information Science Education.
