HB 652: Distracted drivers. Proposal would double the fine for a driver who is ticketed or involved in an accident where the driver was distracted because of activities such as reading, grooming, watching a portable TV, consuming food or beverage, or using a cellphone.
HB 143: No-call list for cellphones. Texans could place their cellphone numbers on a no-call list compiled by the state that would prohibit most companies from soliciting them over the phone. It would operate similar to the no-call list for land-line phones.
