Legal Trade Blog

Mary Flood is the creator of this new blog! The URL is: http://blogs.chron.com/legaltrade/2007/03/welcome_to_the_legal_trade_blo.html

Welcome to this blog about the legal industry, especially as it fares in Houston and Texas.

I hope we'll explore how the 20,000 plus lawyers in town do business, find business, make money, lose money, help people, harm people and keep from being boring.

This blog is intended to be a place for both lawyers and non-lawyers to discuss the business of the law. I hope to hear from readers about legal issues of the day, their experiences practicing law, their experiences with the legal system and anything else connected to lawyers, paralegals, document producers, court reporters, clients etc.

What do you see as the role or importance of the paralegal or legal assistant in the practice of law in Texas, or in Houston, TX?

If you do see a role for the paralegal or legal assistant in Texas or in Houston, how does that differ, say, from 10, 20 or more years ago, and how to you see the role of the paralegal or legal assistant evolving in the next five to 10 years or so?
