We all receive the breathless emails from well-meaning friends/family/co-workers that announce something that is almost plausible, or sounds like it could be true. Where do you go to verify whether or not that rumor making the rounds is true?
One good site is Snopes.com (www.snopes.com). It is fairly easy to search, well-organized, and each article has references at the bottom of the page for additional research. Another good site is About.com's Urban Legends section (urbanlegends.about.com/).
