HALL/SWALL Spring Workshop

Every year HALL (Houston Area Law Librarians) provides professional development opportunities to their members through a Spring Workshop. This year SWALL is co-sponsoring the event!

Location: University of Houston Law Center
Registration fees:
SWALL or HALL member: $75 (2-day), $45 (1 day)
Students: $50 (2-day), $30 (1 day)
Non-member: $85 (2-day), $50 (1 day)
Fees include meals (reception, breakfast, lunch, refreshments), materials, and parking.

The robust slate of topics will include a primer on creating and using QR Codes, alternatives to Westlaw and Lexis, legal research with online government information, a roundtable discussion on research skills for new associates (a dialogue between town and gown), best apps for law librarians, designing a web presence and the social media that should/could accompany it, how technology has changed the dynamics of law libraries, a Bluebook update, corporation bankruptcy research and Chinese law, digital community repositories, and new (and free) tools from the Harris County Districts Clerk's office.
