Born Digital Generation - Better at Searching?

The answer seems to be no.

In this SLAW post, Born Digital Students and Research, John Papadopoulos summarizes a study conducted at several Illinios academic libraries with students, finding that even though they grew up surrounded by computers and the Internet, they are not better searchers than the rest of us. The study was reported in Inside Higher Ed.

The study, ERIAL (The Ethnographic Research in Illinois Academic Libraries),  "is a two-year study of the student research process." More information on the project may be found at http://www.erialproject.org/.
