DALL and SLA: Presidential Library Tour in Dallas

Hello All,

Did you know Texas has three Presidential Libraries?  DALL and the Texas Chapter of Special Libraries Association are coordinating and hosting Saturday tours for these libraries beginning in August. We will kick off our tours, with SLA Texas Chapter as co-host, to the  George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in Dallas on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Information for the August tour:

Place: 2943 SMU Blvd., Dallas, TX 75206
Date: Saturday, Aug. 24th
Tour Start Time: 10:00 a.m.
Cost Per Person: $10.00 (Regular tickets are $16)

Open to members, students and non-members.

Deadline: August 20th

DALL/SLA Texas members will meet in front of the library promptly at 9:30am. This is to allow enough time to for everyone to arrive and get through security. Non-members are welcome to attend but will also need tickets.

Wheelchair Accessibility: Available wheelchairs at the library are on a first come basis.

Public Transportation: From the DART Mockingbird station, SMU has shuttles service. If you are traveling to Dallas, SW has some great deals and check out the Megabus at http://us.megabus.com/Default.aspx! Hotels are near the SMU campus. Check your favorite traveling sites for deals.

Fall plans are to visit the George Bush Presidential Library in College Station in September or October, and the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in Austin during the SLA Texas Chapter Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 2nd. Watch for those announcements!
