Lady Bird Johnson

I just heard this morning that Lady Bird Johnson died yesterday at the age of 94. It was sad from me to hear this news about a woman who was, in MHO, a big influence in our U.S. history in the civil rights movement and vitial in protecting our environment.

"She lived in Austin, Texas, where she oversaw the Lyndon B. Johnson Library and a wildflower research center in her name."

If you have not been to the library and/or wildflower center, might be a good day trip!

I read about it in the Dallas Morning News today - front page story. I haven't been to the wildflower center in years, but remember that it was stunning. It's always sad when someone of such great stature and grace leaves us.
