Authorspeak At the Dallas Public Library

Legendary politician to be featured at Feb. 28 Authorspeak
Willie L. Brown, Jr., widely regarded as the most influential African-American politician of the late 20th century, will discuss his experiences and views of the world Feb. 28 at the Dallas Central Library. The long-time California State Assemblyman and mayor of San Francisco is part of the Authorspeak series presented by the Library and the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth. The author of Basic Brown: My Life and Our Times has been at the center of California politics, government and civic life for four decades, from President Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s, to the present day George W. Bush. He is the head of the Willie L. Brown, Jr. Institute on Politics and Public Service in San Francisco, where he shares his political knowledge and skills with a new generation of California leaders.
After a 6 p.m. reception, the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the O’Hara Exhibit Hall, located on the 7th Floor of the Central Library at 1515 Young St. Admission is $20 for members of the World Affairs Council and Friends of the Library, and $30 for non-members.
