Google's recent changes to Blogger somehow set our blog to private. It is now viewable by all again.

Bloggers at AALL
Our bloggers meeting at AALL will be on Monday, July 25th at 5:30-6:30 pm at the McGillin's Olde Ale House at 1310 Drury Street, a few blocks from City Hall and a few blocks from the Conventional Center. We have a spot in the Bar and reservations are under: AALL Bloggers.

Our Guest Speaker: Meredith Lindemon
Meredith Lindemon has been an editor, a freelance writer, a journalist, and a blogger. She has written for a variety of national publications including Paper, Allure, and Inked Magazine in addition to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia City Paper, and the Philadelphia Weekly. She has launched lifestyle websites for DailyCandy (Comcast Interactive Media), NBC Local Integrated Media, and MSN/Microsoft which involved curating the editorial content and developing the voice of each publication. Currently, she owns and operates Meredith Group (meredithgroup.us), a consultancy specializing in business development and market intelligence.

Why use Twitter
When Twitter (twitter.com) first become available, I was wondering how could I use this tool? Since signing up (back in Feb), I have not touched the tool until this past July.
Professional associations, newspapers, magazines, etc. are now using Twitter for short entries (entries can only be about 125 words) discussing websites, current events, what's happening at an annual conference. Librarians and information specialists from AALL and SLA are using Twitter to report on sessions during the annual meetings.
Then I had a "V-8" moment! I found a use for Twitter. SEC and IR (Investor Relations) Reports are now on Twitter. It is great for CI work--lots of newspapers and magazines are twittering. And, all groups have RSS feeds (good for my Bloglines reader!).
Today on LexBlog, Owner Kevin O'Keefe, talked about the first real-time trial proceedings coverage that appeared on Twitter. Will this be the future of trial proceedings?

It's time to mark your calendars for the AALL's Third Annual Bloggers Get Together!

Guest Speaker: TBA (we are inviting bloggers from the Portland area)
Come share your ideas and meet the other law librarian bloggers! Open to all bloggers and potential bloggers.
RSVP: Last year we had over 35 participants so we are anticipating a good crowd this year.

AALL: Bloggers Meeting
We had about 20-30 attendees at the AALL: Second Annual Bloggers Get Together and a special guest: Ernie the Attorney. http://www.ernietheattorney.net/
Ernie is a lawyer living in New Orleans and has been blogging for about 5 years.
It was wonderful to see and hear Ernie the Attorney. I was so glad he could make it and his insight was, IMHO, inspiring. I am definitely going to read one of the books he mentioned: Everything Is Miscellaneous: The Power of the New Digital Disorder. Information Anxiety was another title that I read while getting my Masters Degree, which is also worth the time to read and digest.
Kudos to Mary Whisper and Library Boy for blogging the session!

And, the DALL blog is being read outside of DALL membership! Jennifer and I heard some great compliments about the blog from various librarians at the AALL meeting.

Our Blog is converted
Same address, slightly different look. Our Lex Scripta blog is now converted to the new version of Blogger, which has several improvements:
- Better control of the page layout
- Ability to add labels to each post
- Better stability
- And so on and so forth
