The Law Librarian Blog notes the existence of several free ebook versions of the New Federal Rules of Evidence and the 2012 editions of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedure. They are available in PDF and ePub versions.

Federal Rules eBooks Release

The Legal Information Institute of Cornell Law School will offer a free downloadable version of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence. The eBooks are compatible with IPad, IPhones, Nook and other software device that supports .epub files.

FederalRegister.gov goes live

FederalRegister.gov is now online, in time to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the publication. This new web site has a number of ways to find items in the FR:

• Presidential Documents

Each individual document can be seen in HTML, with links to PDF and XML versions. Further, the HTML version has a nice box on the right showing official citation, date, type, document ID, and shorter URL.

Rule 502 Update

Just a reminder that Rule 502 of the Federal Rule of Evidence is effective Dec. 1, 2008.

The rule is intended to reduce the costs of document review.
