NOLO update
It's finally not raining in New Orleans, at least for the moment. I personally haven't had the chance to go on any tours, but have heard from others who have. I haven't been here since the early 1990's and had forgotten how narrow some of the streets are. The sessions are good and the walk from the hotel a tad long. More later.

Volunteering in New Orleans
I just signed up to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity during AALL's Annual Meeting in New Orleans. I would like to encourage other DALL members who will be attending AALL this year to consider going to AALL a day earlier (Friday, July 13th) to spend a day helping others.
There are three different areas you can volunteer: Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Louisiana State Museum. I understand the volunteer slots for the museum are full but they need help in the other areas.
AALL is providing bus service from the hotels to the volunteer areas and lunch.
For more information see http://www.aallnet.org/events/communityproject.asp
